Secretary General's Message

The Dubai Economic Council (DEC) Secretariat General’s executive directors, and all their staff, join me in welcoming all of our esteemed visitors to our new site.

Since the establishment of the DEC in 2003, the Secretariat General has continued to strongly support the DEC’s members in their tasks, whether in terms of conducting cutting-edge economic research, or forwarding initiatives in economic policy aimed at enhancing the economic growth of Dubai and the UAE, in addition to arranging meetings and forming committees dedicated to that purpose.

Despite its youth, the Council’s Secretariat General has realized many achievements in its short history, notably the Economic Policy & Research Center (EPRC) and the Legal Affairs & Research Center (LARC) which act together as the operational arms of the DEC. The Secretariat General has also conducted much in-depth researches and produced many working papers, and organized conferences, seminars and workshops on various economic issues of strategic importance for Dubai and the UAE. Moreover, the Secretariat General has created a number of strategic partnerships with respected international academic and research institutions to enhance the scientific efforts being made in economic policy-related specialized studies and research.

The Secretariat General would double its efforts to enhance its role as an engine and Think Tank for the Council towards its objectives.

We trust that you will find this site an informative and thought-provoking forum through which we can exchange viewpoints and suggestions, and create a dialogue dedicated to improving the information and services which this site provides.
