Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai, invited all national companies to enhance their roles in social responsibility and involve in partnerships with public sector in line with the “2017 as the Year of Giving” launched recently by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Dahi Khalfan called the stated initiative as a civilization and historic and a paradigm shift in the economic and development approach in the UAE.
Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim pointed that in time there still slowdown in the global economy, Dubai’s economy continues growing, sweeping various aspects. “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai always surprise the community with critical initiatives, projects and plans that contribute significantly to Dubai’s resilience in the regional and global map…these initiatives have raised the well-being of the citizens and embodied in directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai to business community to translate these objectives into clear agenda especially under Dubai Plan 2021”, Dahi Khalfan stressed.
Lt. General Dahi Khalfan added that Dubai is a city that embraces a vision, and it established itself as a destination for living and business, and turned to be a ‘success story’ for many nations.
The statement made during Lt. General’s receipt of His Excellency Hani Al Hamli, Secretary General at Dubai Economic Council (DEC), who presented to the Lt. General ‘Dubai’s Economy 2015’ report published by the DEC. Al Hamli also presented to Dahi Khalfan the recent publications of DEC including working papers and policy reports that deal with various issues of strategic significance for Dubai and UAE economy.
Lt. General Dahi Khalfan praised the report and consider it an important reference for decision makers from both public and private sectors.

Lt. General Dahi Khalfan praised the pivotal role of DEC as a critical think tank for the Government of Dubai in economic-policy making based on the international best practices. He also commended the DEC Secretariat General’s efforts in conducting economic and legal policy oriented researches.
Lt. General Dahi Khalfan acknowledged the vital role of the national family businesses in developing Dubai’s economy. “We all proud of our national companies which cited on entrepreneurship, excellence, innovation and competitiveness and their operations cross borders”, Khalfan said.
Hani Al Hamli: Diversification, openness and security
His Excellency Hani Al Hamli expressed his gratitude to Lt. General Dahi Khalfan for his continued support to DEC. Al Hamli said that diversification, openness as well as security are essential factors behind Dubai’s resilience in the regional and global arena. “Dubai becomes a unique destination of FDIs, thanks to Dubai Policy General Head Quarters for turning Dubai into a safe oasis for living and business,” Hani said.
Hani Al Hamli commended the ‘Nation's Fund’ chaired by Lt. General Dahi Khalfan. He said the Fund comes within the social corporate responsibility of the private sector in the UAE to contribute to the development projects and support the process of nation building through adoption of entrepreneurial and innovative ideas that serve the development process in the country.
Al Hamli highlighted the key findings of ‘Dubai Economy’ report. He said the Report is among the critical publications and research undertaken by DEC. It demonstrates the key issues of Dubai’s economy. It is cited on benchmarking analysis with regional and global economies.
“The Report is a product of institutional integration between DEC and other departments concerned in Dubai” Al Hamli concluded.
